Rabbi Scott Perlo
Rabbi Perlo was ordained by the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies in 2008, and is pursuing a doctorate in Jewish Thought. He is a veteran of multiple cutting-edge Jewish communities, including as a rabbi at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue, rabbi-in-residence at Moishe House and The Professional Leaders Project, and intern at IKAR in Los Angeles. Scott leads trips for Honeymoon Israel, was a founding member of the Jewish Emergent Network and is a Wexner Field Fellow.
A regular writer, Rabbi Perlo has been published in The Washington Post, The Forward and The Huffington Post, among other publications.
A California native, he gets back to his beloved Pacific Ocean to surf and to dive whenever he can. He lives with his partner, Yael Bromberg, a Constitutional Lawyer, and their two sons who are students in the Adat Shalom Limmud program.


Aaron Shneyer
Shaliach Tzibbur and Song Leader
Aaron serves as Shaliach Tzibur at Adat Shalom and Music Director at Sixth and I Historic Synagogue. A Fulbright-MTV Fellow, he founded Heartbeat, uniting Israeli and Palestinian youth musicians, and has led peacebuilding efforts for 20 years. Aaron previously managed One Common Unity’s violence prevention programs and toured internationally with Jerusalem’s Nava Tehila ensemble. He holds degrees from American University and Georgetown, and is a 2025 DC Arts Fellow. Aaron lives in Takoma with his wife Lula and sons Nahuel and Lev.
