Rena Milchberg

Rena Milchberg (she/her) joined Adat Shalom’s staff in 2019 after serving as Executive Director of the American Jewish Society for Service and Deputy Director of the Center for the Advancement of Health. She previously coordinated volunteer efforts with Manna Food Center and has been an Adat Shalom member since 2010 with husband Howard and her three adult children.

Rozzie Eppsteiner
Education Programs Manager
Rozzie Eppsteiner (she/her) is an Atlanta native who moved to the DMV for college, graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland. After teaching in the public school system, she shifted to Jewish education and worked for two years at Congregation Beth El in Bethesda before joining Adat Shalom’s staff in August 2021. She lives in DC with her two cats, Peter and Patsy.
Sydney Levitt
Community Engagement Manager
Sydney Levitt (she/they) grew up in Minnesota and moved to the East Coast to attend Barnard College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. After graduation, she relocated to the DMV to work at George Mason Hillel as a student engagement professional. She joined Adat Shalom in 2024 and is grateful to be part of such a vibrant and welcoming community. Sydney lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, Tani.
Asella Medina-Smith
Communications & Marketing Manager
Asella Medina-Smith (she/her) is originally from San Diego, CA and now lives in charming Baltimore City. She lived in the UK for 3 year and received her MFA in Musical Theatre from the Guildford School of Acting. Since arriving to Baltimore, she has worked for small local businesses and Jewish nonprofits. She comes to Adat Shalom after 2.5 years at Beth Am Synagogue. In her free time, Asella enjoys planning gatherings for her friends, attending ballet class, and cooking!

Pam Sommers
Educator
Pam Sommers (she/her) grew up attending Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago, where she developed her love of Torah and cantillation. A conservatory-trained musician and former Washington Post critic, she has tutored over 100 students for B’nai Mitzvah. Pam created Tikkun Ha’Ir service learning program, directs Chords of Glory youth ensemble, and previously led service missions to Haiti with Rabbi Sid Schwarz. Pam lives in Takoma Park with her husband Fred.
Alma Pineda
Facility Staff
Alma Pineda joined the Adat Shalom team in 2007 after many years at Oseh Shalom Congregation. She grew up in El Salvador and has lived in New York and Maryland. Alma enjoys spending her free time on various hobbies including metal embossing, caring for plants, and exploring DIY crafts.
Elizabeth Orellena

Elizabeth grew up in San Miguel and has made Maryland her home for over 20 years with her husband and two children. She’s been part of the Adat Shalom team since 2013 and enjoys spending her free time with family and friends.
Debbie Reindollar
Bookkeeper
Debbie Reindollar (she/her) grew up in Pennsylvania and earned her accounting degree from George Washington University. Growing up in PA gave Debbie a serious love for pretzels, Hershey Park (the sweetest place on earth) and rooting for the Phillies (her dog is named Harper). When not working, Debbie enjoys traveling with family and friends, quilting, tap dancing, and exploring the woods with her dogs.
