Rena Milchberg

Executive Director

Rena joined Adat Shalom’s staff in 2019 after serving as Executive Director of the American Jewish Society for Service and Deputy Director of the Center for the Advancement of Health. She previously coordinated volunteer efforts with Manna Food Center and has been an Adat Shalom member since 2010 with husband Howard and her three adult children.

Rozzie Eppsteiner

Rozzie is an Atlanta native who moved to the DMV for college, graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland. After teaching in the public school system, she shifted to Jewish education and worked for two years at Congregation Beth El in Bethesda before joining Adat Shalom’s staff in August 2021. She lives in DC with her two cats, Peter and Patsy.

Sydney Levitt

Synagogue Coordinator

Sydney grew up in Minnesota and moved to the East Coast to attend Barnard College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. After graduation, she relocated to the DMV to work at George Mason Hillel as a student engagement professional. She joined Adat Shalom in 2024 and is grateful to be part of such a vibrant and welcoming community. Sydney lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, Tani.

Pam Sommers

Educator

Pam grew up attending Anshe Emet Day School in Chicago, where she developed her love of Torah and cantillation. A conservatory-trained musician and former Washington Post critic, she has tutored over 100 students for B’nai Mitzvah. Pam created Tikkun Ha’Ir service learning program, directs Chords of Glory youth ensemble, and previously led service missions to Haiti with Rabbi Sid Schwarz. Pam lives in Takoma Park with her husband Fred.

Debbie grew up in Pennsylvania and earned her accounting degree from George Washington University. Growing up in PA gave Debbie a serious love for pretzels, Hershey Park (the sweetest place on earth) and rooting for the Phillies (her dog is named Harper). When not working, Debbie enjoys traveling with family and friends, quilting, tap dancing, and exploring the woods with her dogs.
