Commemorate Yom HaAtzmaut (Israeli Independence Day)
April 22 @ 7:00 pm
Adat Shalom will commemorate Yom HaAtzmaut with a gathering at the synagogue to learn about and discuss Israel’s Declaration of Independence — along with some lite bites to match the theme of the evening. We’ll learn how the declaration reflected the ideals of its time and how perspectives may have changed since it was written in 1948. For example, it proclaimed Israel as a Jewish state while also guaranteeing “the full social and political equality of all its inhabitants, without distinction of race, creed, or sex.”
